Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and CrownChain (“we”, “us”) for using the CrownChain apps and website. By creating an account or using CrownChain, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use CrownChain.
1. Who can use CrownChain
- You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you confirm a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms for you.
- You may have one account, and you must not use CrownChain if we have previously banned you.
- Keep your login secure. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
2. The spirit of CrownChain
CrownChain exists to lift people up. Crowns are compliments: “someone thinks you’re the Kindest.” Keeping the sender’s name off a Crown is there to make kindness easier — not cruelty. You agree not to:
- Bully, harass, threaten, shame or target anyone, including with theme suggestions, usernames, club names or profile photos.
- Suggest or use themes about anyone’s body, looks or attractiveness, or about dating and romance.
- Post anything sexual, hateful, violent, discriminatory or illegal, or anything involving someone else’s private information.
- Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your school or age.
- Try to work out who Crowned you, or anyone else, by any means other than a reveal in the app; or scrape, reverse-engineer or overload the service.
- Cheat the system — fake accounts, automated Crowns, or claiming rewards for ads you did not watch.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Every Crown theme is chosen by our team, and you can hide, report or block from any Crown you receive or anyone you can see in the app. We review reports within 24 hours, remove objectionable content, and suspend or ban the accounts responsible, with or without notice. We may report illegal activity to the authorities. To report something directly, email kwesi.buabeng@gmail.com.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of what you create — theme suggestions, your photo. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, show and use it to run and promote CrownChain (for example, a theme you suggest may become a Challenge everyone plays). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content others have already received, like Crowns you gave.
4. Who sent a Crown, and reveals
A Crown shows the person you Crown the theme you picked — “someone thinks you’re the Funniest” — without your name. They can pay Credits to reveal that it was you, and you will be told when they do. We keep your name off Crowns as described in the Privacy Policy, but you should never send a Crown you would be unwilling to have revealed.
5. Credits, plans and payments
- Credits are a virtual in-app currency you can buy, or earn by watching rewarded videos. They can be spent on things like reveals, boosts and themes. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and are not refundable except where the law requires. We may change what Credits buy.
- CrownChain Pro and Plus are subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown before you buy. Each starts with a 7-day free trial; unless you cancel before it ends, you will be charged and the plan renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- Cancel any time from Profile › CrownChain Plus › Manage subscription. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not give refunds for partial periods except where the law requires.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices may change; we will tell you before a change applies to an existing subscription.
6. Rewarded videos
You may choose to watch ads to earn Credits, up to a daily limit. Rewards are granted only for ads that play in full, as confirmed by our ad partners; abuse forfeits them.
7. Challenges and leaderboards
Challenges, leaderboards, campus rankings, rivalries and badges are for fun. We decide how they are scored and may change the rules, correct errors, or remove results we believe were gained by cheating. Winning does not come with a prize unless we say so explicitly.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account any time from Profile › Delete account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or to protect CrownChain or its users. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as 3, 9, 10 and 11) survive.
9. Disclaimers
CrownChain is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or that Crowns or messages from other users will be accurate or kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, CrownChain will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for more than the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Disputes
Before bringing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
12. App stores
If you downloaded CrownChain from Apple’s App Store or Google Play, their terms also apply. Apple and Google are not responsible for CrownChain or its support.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect; continuing to use CrownChain after that means you accept it.
